By and for the People's Public Comment Published By the SEC
Jan 27, 2024

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission publishes By and for the People's public comment on recently proposed climate-related rule changes.

On January 16th, 2024, the By and for the People organization submitted a public comment with a response to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) Release No. 34-98665; File No. SR-NYSE-2023-09 relating to the Notice of Filing of Proposed Rule Change to Amend the NYSE Listed Company Manual to Adopt Listing Standards for Natural Asset Companies, and the SEC just added our comment to the list.

Our submission checked all the boxes and requirements to be accepted, and the SEC has published By and for the People's comment, which is to be made viewable to the public.

Following our response, the New York Stock Exchange ironically decided to withdraw from the proposed rule change relating to various carbon credits potentially made through the creation of "Natural Asset Companies”. Source: Idaho Dispatch.
